FAQ’s
At K9 Lawns we get a lot of questions regarding artificial grass.
Here are some of the most frequently asked questions.
Is Artificial Grass maintenance free?
No, artificial grass is not maintenance free. You will have to carry out some maintenance, mainly brushing up the pile and removing any build-up of fallen leaves and debris. Dog owners have to do a bit more as they must clear up after their dog(s). K9 Lawns maintenance and deep clean programme helps to keep your grass cleaner and more hygienic.
Do I have to clean my Artificial Grass?
Yes. In Britain, although the weather can help a lot with this mainly through the winter months with all the rain we get. If your dog is peeing and pooping on the lawn, this will have to be cleaned on a regular basis. Through the dryer months you can use a hosepipe to wash down the grass and use a liquid cleaner to prevent the build-up of bacteria in the grass yarn and backing.
How often should I clean my Grass?
Little and often is the best way.
Making it part of your overall garden maintenance programme should allow you to keep on top of any issues that may arise.

How many times should I have a deep clean?
Depending on the size of your lawn and how many dogs you have using the area, we would recommend a deep clean, once or twice a year.
What is the best time of year to get my grass cleaned?
Artificial Grass can be cleaned all year round.
We would recommend Spring, Summer and Autumn. You can clean it in the Winter as long as there is no frost or snow.
